Things I Do…

Being single is weird and different. Adjusting to being alone has been interesting.

Here are weird things I apparently do now:

  • I microwave eggs. Does anyone else do this? You just crack it, pop it on top of whatever else (in this case, a weird mess of grains and spinach), and poke the yolk with a fork so it won’t explode. Two and a half minutes, plus a minute to sit, and bam! Egg done. Yolk not set. Radiation Egg! Appetizing!
  • I do dumb shit, like buy cigarettes and try smoking. Gross. Though, after a couple glasses of wine? Not so gross. Nate had a no-smoking rule. Now I break all the rules!
Did you know that smoking can cause gangrene? Now, you do:

Like diabetes, smoking clogs your arteries, causing gangrene that can lead to amputation. EEK!

  • I sleep in sometimes. Today, until eight-thirty! Wow! (I normally get up ridiculously early because my brain, for whatever reason, likes to make up stories very very early)
  • I cook and eat the same meal every day. Today is my fifth day of having the same exact lunch. Why? It’s easy. For Nate, I cooked something different almost daily. Now that it’s just me? Eh. Not worth the effort. Though today I did make some variety by, as noted above, adding an egg.

Thanks for all the kind words and mails about the move to Mexico City. So far, I’m having a mostly good time. :)

I have even been asked out on a date by a smarmy guy. I will try to go out only with non-smarmy people, though the offer of meals and wine is… enticing.

xoxo

  1. Black Hippie Chick

Can you date one or two bad boys so I can live vicariously though you? It doesn’t have to be long-term, but what this Chica wouldn’t do for a wild night *blushing*. ;)

  2. Getting used to being single is an adjustment, but please don’t smoke, Sadey. It’s so bad for you. Treat yourself well.
