Happy Valentine’s Day!
A quickie update into the literal car wreck that is my life:
I got hit by a car!
Whilst biking home the other morning, a car ran right into me. Silly driver just didn’t see me on my bike. I’m lucky, in many ways. All I have is a broken wrist and some bruises.
Unlucky, too, as I got hit by a god-damned car, got a fucking compound fracture–2 centimeters of bone just poppin’ straight out of my right wrist–,a strained and bruised left wrist, scraped up knees, and my face looks like I’m Chris Brown’s new girlfriend.
So it’s all in how I phrase it, or something. In all seriousness, I’m lucky to be alive.
I just got home from the hospital. Happy! Writing will be on hold for a couple weeks, at least. Wish me luck for a smooth recovery.
Sadey advice of the week: Don’t forget to tell the important people how much they matter to you. Never know when life might hit you with a four thousand pound pile of steel on wheels.

Sadey, that I awful. Nothin great about being hit by a car. I was hit by a car in the 2nd grade. I wish you a speedy recovery. Relax and enjoy the sites of Austin. I hope the driver is paying your doctor bills and getting you a new bike.

I’m so sorry Sadey. I’m glad you are still healthy and alive though. I was hit by a car (also while biking), approx. 10 years ago. The girl’s insurance company tried to get me to pay for the damage my head did to her windshield. (In my state, the bikers are at fault by being on the road). So I can totally empathize. But I am glad you are alive. Sending prayers and hugs for a speedy recovery.
give me a fucking break – four thousand pounds of steel and shit against less than 200 pounds of steel or aluminum and human being???? that sucks big time, as does SEEING one of your bones on anything other than an X-ray. hope you are going tu sue the stupidity out of that driver.
heel strong and get your joint mobility back soon. do everything they tell you to do about rehab, and then do it all over each day.

How awful. Glad you’re okay, besides the compound fractures, of course. You could have been killed.
