I’ve acquired an amazing team of beta-readers. And two days ago, I sent them Slaves on Pertz.
This is a big deal for a newbie author like me. I have unleashed a novel onto a group of people I don’t even know personally. What will they say?! Will they hate it?! Love it?! Will they think, ‘Eh..’?
The problem is I haven’t heard from any of them yet. I’d like to think that they’ve all downloaded it to their readers and are reading here and there when they get a chance, but practically, these people have lives and kids and I’m lucky if they’ve even checked their e-mail yet to find the book. 🙂 But I will be the first to admit that I am an insanely impatient person. Seriously. If I’m expecting a package in the mail I am like a monster unleashed onto the world.
Beta-reading involves reading a novel before it is released and simply providing your thoughts, comments, and potential ideas to the author/editor. Ideally it would not involve catching typos or other errors. If you’re interested in beta-reading my books, contact me!
Another quick update: I’ve decided to release a novella within the next month or two that will be more in line with Under Order and Social Service. Since Slaves on Pertz is an odd erotic sci-fi book, and Odyssey for Passion is also… different…, I want to give the folks who enjoyed my first two novels something I know they’ll like. I’m about 7,000 words in and expect it to be 30,000 words. About half of the length of a short novel. It will be interesting to see how readers react to shorter works. I started writing novels because that’s what I like to read, but upon thinking about it more, a lot of people don’t have tons of time to commit to a full-length book. And in the erotica genre, well… yeah. I want to have something available for everyone.
Enjoy Saturday, everyone!
