Call for Beta Readers

Hey, lovelies!

I’m finishing up final revisions of my latest domestic discipline novella, Bad Girl Good. Early this week, I’ll have the book ready for beta-reading.

If you’re interested in beta-reading, please fill out the form below.

Beta-reading entails reading through the book, taking note of any obvious inconsistencies, and providing general thoughts and feedback. It’s not editing, though I certainly welcome suggestions. Basically, I want to know if you enjoyed the story, if you thought the characters were believable and awesome, and how you felt about the sex and spankings. 🙂

This story includes: domestic discipline, spankings, M/f romance, a lil’ bit of anal, and a smidgen of humiliation. It’s intense domestic discipline, bordering on BDSM-lite. If anal and humiliation aren’t your thing, you might not like it. If whips and chains are more your style, this might be too tame for you. But if you enjoy a good romance with plenty of dirty sex and punishments, you’ll probably enjoy Bad Girl Good.

It’s around 40,000 words, so it’s a quick read. I’m hoping to have the beta-feedback within ten days of sending the novella out.

Thanks in advance! Here’s the form:

Edit: This call is now closed. Please stay tuned for more calls for help!

No! Not *that*!

Yesterday I sent out Odyssey for Passion to my lovely team of amazing readers who offer feedback, insight, and general thoughts about the crazy stuff I write.

The time after clicking ‘send’ and waiting for feedback is slightly nerve-wracking, but it’s worth the wait. With the help of beta-readers, I’ve avoided silly errors (like having someone order a salad and later be eating a cheeseburger). I’ve changed endings (from a comment that said, ‘Well, the story was fine… but that ending was really weak). And, check this out: I avoided having a main character commit a huge fashion faux pas. David, from Under His Roof, was almost arrested by the Fashion Police for doing the unspeakable, the unthinkable!

Socks with sandals. This is an exact quote from a very observant reader:

When Rachel arrived David was sitting on the porch and he was wearing socks. When they return from their walk he kicks off his sandals…
Please tell me he wasn’t wearing socks with sandals!!!?!

🙂

I just googled ‘Socks with Sandals’ for fun. So glad I did. Please watch this video:

Under His Roof: Beta Version Released!

I just sent out the beta copies of Under His Roof to an amazing group of readers. I’m so excited to hear their reactions to this novella. Under His Roof is a fun story of a lovely, slightly bitchy woman who needs a little ‘correction’ in her life. ‘Correction’ turns out to be spankings, and this novella is full of spankings!

If you’re a reader who might be interested in beta reading, read this post and contact me. Try to include at least something enticing about your reading and feedback skills. I’ve gotten a few messages that are along the lines of, ‘Sadie I be good reader 4 u’… to which I respond, ‘thx Jeremy203Spanker, butt I’m allz good’.

And, to the current beta-readers, THANKS THANKS THANKS, you are all awesome. Nate thought I didn’t need you until I got such excellent, insightful feedback for Slaves on Pertz. I’ve really been floored by all the thoughtful comments I’ve received.

🙂

Beta-Readers

I’ve acquired an amazing team of beta-readers. And two days ago, I sent them Slaves on Pertz.

This is a big deal for a newbie author like me. I have unleashed a novel onto a group of people I don’t even know personally. What will they say?! Will they hate it?! Love it?! Will they think, ‘Eh..’?

The problem is I haven’t heard from any of them yet. I’d like to think that they’ve all downloaded it to their readers and are reading here and there when they get a chance, but practically, these people have lives and kids and I’m lucky if they’ve even checked their e-mail yet to find the book. 🙂 But I will be the first to admit that I am an insanely impatient person. Seriously. If I’m expecting a package in the mail I am like a monster unleashed onto the world.

Beta-reading involves reading a novel before it is released and simply providing your thoughts, comments, and potential ideas to the author/editor. Ideally it would not involve catching typos or other errors. If you’re interested in beta-reading my books, contact me!

Another quick update: I’ve decided to release a novella within the next month or two that will be more in line with Under Order and Social Service. Since Slaves on Pertz is an odd erotic sci-fi book, and Odyssey for Passion is also… different…, I want to give the folks who enjoyed my first two novels something I know they’ll like. I’m about 7,000 words in and expect it to be 30,000 words. About half of the length of a short novel. It will be interesting to see how readers react to shorter works. I started writing novels because that’s what I like to read, but upon thinking about it more, a lot of people don’t have tons of time to commit to a full-length book. And in the erotica genre, well… yeah. I want to have something available for everyone.

Enjoy Saturday, everyone!
